All are invited to attend a showing of the movie, "The Passion of the Christ" starring Jim Caviezel as Jesus. This movie depicts the final hours of Jesus Christ's life leading up to His crucifixion.
This event is being held in light of the upcoming season and celebration of Easter, on April 9th, and Good Friday, on April 7th.
Our event begins at 6:30PM on March 23rd, with a brief introduction to the movie, things to keep in mind while watching the movie, and what to expect led by Catholic Campus Minister Lucia and InterVarsity Minister Nelly. Refreshments will be provided in the lounge adjacent to the theater, but not permitted inside the theater. The event will be in the Little Theater of the MSC.
Please note, the movie has a run time of two hours, so we may have a brief intermission if students request it. This movie may be difficult to watch for some viewers, so we recommend watching a trailer prior to your arrival if you are not familiar with the movie or with the events that lead to Christ's crucifixion. This movie/depiction should not be considered as a replacement for reading the accounts of Christ's crucifixion in the Gospels, so we highly encourage reading the Biblical accounts in addition to viewing the movie.
