Restless Heart Bible Study

Have you ever walked into your kitchen, opened a fridge totally stocked with food, and then complained that there’s nothing to eat? I do this quite a bit. My mom once asked me what I was looking for. And I said, “I don’t know.” Has this ever happened to you? You know you want something, but you’re not really sure what you want?

I don’t think this only applies to our empty bellies! For example, you came to college, your whole life changed, but something still feels not right. You got that great friend group, you got that internship, you got that significant other. But you still feel restless! Still unfulfilled! Still searching for something more.

Or maybe you actually didn’t get these things. Maybe you have started to believe that life will never be satisfying until these things are achieved! Or maybe you’re not really sure what you want in the first place!

If you’re looking for answers, if you’re wondering if you can ever be satisfied, if you’re lost on what to do with your restless heart, join us at Bible study and explore these incredibly important questions! Who knows? Perhaps you will find what you’ve been looking for along the way.

Hi there! My name is Reuben, and I will be conducting a semester-long Bible study on fulfillment through Newman Club, sponsored by Catholic Campus Ministry at Kean. I am so eager to help YOU discover an authentic and living joy unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Forget ALL your preconceived notions about Jesus or Christianity or whatever, whether good or bad. Together, we are going to radically transform our understanding of the person of Jesus and His response to the problem of restlessness. Whether you think this whole Christianity thing is a load of baloney or you’ve practiced it all your life, I WANT YOU THERE! I promise that no matter where you are in your journey, you will get something out of this Bible study.

We will be meeting on Tuesdays at 7:30 in CAS 205. I invite you to bring any questions you may have. We’ll have dinner or refreshments and Bibles each week. Whether you just want to sit back and soak it all in or share all your thoughts on the passage, I want you there!

A bit about me. I am a second-year doctoral student in school and clinical psychology. I have an unhealthy obsession with LEGO (no, it’s not only for children). I also love SpongeBob, ventriloquism, juggling, and the art of punning! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about Bible study or just want to grab a coffee and chat! I’ve been leading several Bible studies for 3 years, and I’m so excited to continue being a student leader on campus!

So what do you seek? Do you search for that something more? Do you want to be genuinely satisfied, to be truly fulfilled? Or will you settle for less? Right now, our hearts are restless until something happens. Let’s find out what that something is!
