On Your Mark: Student-Led Bible Study

Catholic Campus Ministry is happy to support our student-led weekly Bible Study Group, On Your Mark, hosted by Reuben:

Does pineapple belong on pizza? Are oatmeal raisin cookies morally acceptable? Who is Jesus? No matter whom you ask, you will always get a lot of different thoughts.

Hi there! My name is Reuben. I can easily answer the first two here (wholeheartedly yes!), but the third one… well… come and see. Through Catholic Campus Ministry at Kean, I will be conducting a multi-semester Bible study on the Gospel of Mark. We will be meeting on Wednesdays at 7:00PM in CAS 205.

Mark is a short and sweet telling of the story of Jesus. Each week, we will go through one chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Whether you’ve been Christian all your life or totally unfamiliar with the faith, I promise that you will get something out of this Bible study. Forget ALL your preconceived notions about Jesus or Christianity or whatever, whether good or bad. You may know a few random stories about Jesus, but these stories are not as awe-inspiring on their own. By going through the full Gospel slowly but surely, we are going to radically transform our understanding of the person of Jesus.

I invite you to read the chapter for the week before Bible study so you can dwell on it at your own pace, and I invite you to ask any questions you may have. We’ll have snacks and Bibles each week. Whether you just want to sit back and soak it all in or share all your thoughts on the passage, I want you there!

MARK my words, it’s going to be awesome!

The Spring Semester will be starting with Chapter 4 of Mark.
