Ash Wednesday Service

Catholic Campus Ministry welcomes you to Lent!

Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Season of Lent. This day marks the start to a season of reflection, fasting, prayer and penance which prepares us for Christ's death, then resurrection on Easter.

Campus Ministry will be holding three formal Ash Distribution Services on campus: in room 226 of the Miron Student Center. There will also be time dedicated for the Sacrament of Confession for those who wish to receive it throughout the day. Any of the services are a chance to receive your ashes.

11:15- 11:45PM : Confession (for those seeking it)

12PM: Service

12:45- 1:15PM : Confession (for those seeking it)

3:30PM: Service

5:30PM: Service

These Services and the Sacrament of Confession will be led by Chaplain Father Peter Volz.

The Sacrament of Confession is available in English or Spanish.

El Sacramento de la Confesión está disponible en inglés o español.

Anyone attending a service will be able to receive some resources on fasting, what campus ministry has going on during the season of Lent, sign up for Lenten trips and opportunities, and more. You can also sign up for Lenten reflection booklets, pick up rosaries for prayer, and get info on other tools to aid your spirituality in Lent.

Any questions regarding Ash Wednesday or the Lenten season can be directed to Campus Minister Lucia at lpasternak@kean.edu. You can also stay up to date on our events and services by following us @KeanCatholics on Instagram.
